Vibing - This one kind of made sense for the locals of Embarcadero, who suddenly had to endure every skateboarder in the world turning up at their spot. When these same skaters then took this ‘not so friendly’ demeanour back to their local curb in Holland, not so much. There was a very locals only mentality that became a mainstay in early nineties skateboarding scenes. If you were from out of town, you got labelled a T-dog and might get shoulder-blocked or spit on. In some cases even fights broke out between the locals and the unsuspecting skate tourists. ‘Go back to where you came from’ was the very close-minded saying you might often hear back then. It’s not where you’re at; it’s where you’re from. Get lost T-dog!
