It’s been a long time coming, but last weekend the DIY concrete park in the center of Helsinki finally got bulldozed by the city officials. The local residents had complained about the noise, the Finnish Skateboard association had promised to measure noise levels and organize a survey around the neighborhood to drum up some support, but in the end nothing helped. Wamma grounds have been occupied by skaters ever since the late 80′s in some shape or form, it’s been an ongoing struggle with building and tearing down. I’d be surprised if we’ve seen the last of it.
Mika and Love enjoy the tight channel at the latest construction at the park.
