American Jerry Hsu is a photographer and pro skater, riding for Emerica, Royal, Ricta, Mob Grip, Bones Bearings and Swiss. For many years he was sponsored by Enjoi Skateboards, but he left the company in October 2013 following the departure of brand manager Matt Eversole, and joined up with his friend and mentor Marc Johnson at Chocolate.

After appearing in videos for companies including  Osiris and Logic, he made his debut for Enjoi in 2006’s Bag of Suck with seven and a half minutes of smooth, stylish skateboarding. He went on to feature in Emerica’s Stay Gold from 2010 as well as Enjoi’s Tweak the Beef promo from 2012, but he was also sidelined for many months by a series of serious injuries.

Jerry was born on 17th December 1981, and grew up in San Jose, California. He started skating at the age of 10, and, with grudging support from his Mum, he was soon making progress on flat ground and a piece of wood with a 2×4 under one end. He first met Johnson at the age of 14, around the time he also made his first strides in photography, taking photos of his friends skating with his Mum’s camera .

Eschewing contests, Jerry concentrates on making great video parts, and has developed into one of the world’s best skateboarders. As well as being an unbelievably gifted skater with creativity and style to spare, he stands out in today’s skate scene for his personality and his willingness to state his opinion whenever and wherever he can.
