25-year-old Dutch wildchild Tim Zom is the subject of Billy Pols’ documentary, Zombie: The Resurrection of Tim Zom, which mixes archival skate footage and beautiful cinematography to tell the story of this long-haired skateboarding rebel without a cause from the south of Rotterdam. The film premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in January 2014.

It paints a raw portrait of a difficult streetkid full of aggression and with a dark past mired inviolence and crime. However, Tim’s life was saved by skateboarding, and the film is full of impressive tricks, kickflips and rail grinds that he shows off en route to becoming a world famous skateboarder.

Tim is part of Bombaklats, and had a starring role in the Dutch collective’s 2012 promo, as well as their full-length release from 2013, edited by Sami el Hassani and Jan Maarten Sneep, and filmed mostly in Rotterdam. Riding for Skate Mental, he also appeared in the 2013 tour video Somebody’s Getting Pregnant. He is currently sponsored by brands such as Amsterdam’s Ben G skateshop, Independent Trucks and Monster Energy Drink.

After honing his skills growing up on the modern industrial streets of Rotterdam, Tim has quickly developed into one of Europe’s standout powerhouse ams, who skates anything and everything in his path with reckless abandon, In fact, there are few skaters in the world more exciting to watch than Tim – his high speed lines and eye for the unconventional make him an absolute ruler in the streets and park.
