What a pleasant surprise! I wasn’t expecting anything from this weird little edit, but it turned out to be pretty sick. I dont’t thing I’ve ever seen a video that mixes so many different formats, but since it’s clearly not trying to be serious, it kind of works. Although slightly long in parts, whoever made this managed gather clips from most of the LA skaters that you actually care about. I’m talking about people like Raymond Molinar, Danny Montoya or British export Benny Fairfax. Joey Pressey’s even got a cool line in there, so check it out. Appart from that one exception, skating in the city of angels hadn’t looked so fun in ages.

This weekend coming, Feb 9.-11, Adidas France are putting on a free for all skate / art event at le centquate space. Badger of Moving Units and Side Effects of Urethane is building a new obstacle specially for this, and judging by what he’s built before for the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, for South Bank, for Hoxton and for the first TSEOU event in London, this should be something to experience. The Adidas team with Mark Gonzales, Lucas Puig, Silas Baxter-Neal, Nestor Judkins, Lem Villemin and Benny Fairfax among others will do a demo on Friday at 4pm.

O Canada… – Adidas Joining In

Canada seems to be the place right now. Next visitors: adidas, with Montreal being the Euro heavy squad of stylers’ destination of choice. Dunno if they came by subway, but obviously, looking at their amazing clip, they must have spent a hell of a lot of time on the underground. Anyway, they brought back a fantastic piece of audio-visual stimulation.Thanks to some fresh Queeb spots, the awesome skating of Lucas Puig, Dennis Busenitz, Chewy Cannon, Jake Donnelly, Silas Baxter-Neal, Benny Fairfax and the rest, fine filming and editing by Dan Wolfe and Torsten Frank and the music of The Horror and Wolf Parade. Good stuff.
