This young man named Sammy Montano now skates for Austyn Gillette’s company, Small Wheels. I’d never heard of him before but he’s pretty damn good. Really liked that cab front nose slide on the bank to ledge.

It doesn’t exactly come as a surprise but I might as well mention it: Kevin Rodrigues now officially rides for Polar! Congrats K-Rod! One of his little Parisian buddies (a fellow Blobby) is also rumoured to be getting boards but it’s probably still too early to tell where that will be going… Anyway, I love Kevin’s skating and I’m glad a legit company is backing him so I’ll use this as an excuse to post Pontus’ switch wallie photo from issue 111 (shot by Sam Ashley).

Jeremy Elkin, (the man behind Elephant Direct and Poisonous Products) put together Josh Stewart‘s footage of last year’s Polar’s trip to NYC. As you can expect, this 5 minute clip includes some sick skating from Pontus, Jerome and the rest of the team, but its main focus is what happened behind the scenes. That includes the setting up of a one night only art show in KCDC skateshop (by the way their new video is really good) and the building of a DIY spot in the rain!
