This DIY park is seriously the hardest thing I’ve ever skated, and I was practically on my own. Forget about skating it with that many people. Not only does it feel like you are skating the inside of a fridge, but its so cramped you can’t actually find the lines. If you’ve ever been to this place then you know how ridiculous the stuff these guys are doing is. Our very own Jan Kliewer kills it though!

“In the end it doesn’t fucking matter; there was one team that was outstanding…”, Kingpin’s own, Alex Irvine declared at The Drive’s final stop in Helsinki when all the trick books were charted. “So, 2000 € in 50 € notes go to: Radio Skateboards!”

And yes, these guys did earn it by doing what they do best: partying hard, skating their asses off and having a ball!

So here is to all tomorrow’s (and tonight’s) parties… Radio skateboards’ never ending lust for skate life!

This Ain’t California On The Big Screen

Finally, This Ain’t California, the fantastic (pseudo) documentary on youth, freedom and the big lust for life – with skateboarding in GDR times being the driving force bhind all of it – is now officially coming to the big screen. A whole bunch of international film festival titles and nominations, including Berlinale’s “Perspective Deutsches Kino award”, in the bag, the movie co-starring a bunch of Berlin locals like Lennie Burmeister, Juppie Diens, Valeri Rosomako, Barney Benecker and Kai Hillebrandt, is making its premier tour through German cinemas, with screenings at Bright and an afterparty at the open air cinema infront of Berlin’s Cassiopeia club. If you somehow get the chance, be sure not to miss this one, it’s worth it. Good times galore!
