The third and final edit from the burn Save Our Spot project Kingpin embarked upon over the summer of 2012. Sarah Meurle and Daniel Grönwall from Bellows turned up to brave the 40 degree heat and erratic electricity of this tough stop and to join Rasmus and Nacho of burn for some rad skating.

Burn SOS: Sibiu, Romania

The team of Vision ramps, select Burn riders Jean-Marc Soulet and Rasmus Sand and a few Kingpin types spent the last week over in scorching hot Romania, the lovely city of Sibiu to be more exact, where the Burn SOS program had its final stop. The aim was to save the city’s dying skate park which was rotting away, desintegrating. Still, in Sibiu’s case this place of metal and fiberglas structures falling into its single parts was the only spot for locals to meet and do their thing.

Shit had to be done, shit got done!

In higher 30′s temperatures the boys stepped in and gave all they had, and the locals in turn got excited and joined in where they could. In the end I think it is not exaggerating to say skateboarding in Sibiu can now look ahead into a brighter future. Some of it we could witness in Saturday’s final event, a comp with busloads of skaters coming in from all over the country to shred, bringing all the scene together – not a regular thing to happen here. Everyone was super hyped and of course the kids killed it.

Thanks to everyone involved, Old School Shop and all the animals that gave their lives for our daily plates of mixed meat.

Burn SOS: Györ

The Burn / Kingpin SOS project spent the past week in Györ, Hungary, fixing the local skatepark. Along for the ride at this stop were Bellows Skateboards and Vision Ramps. If the Warsaw stop in Wilanowska was cold and rainy, then this one was the exact opposite. Shithot and sunny.

This is what found in Györ. And as haggard as it may seem, this park is loved by the locals and serves as the central spot in town, holding the scene together.

After a day of welding to fix a worn-out ledge with a fresh angle iron, Nachete tries it out with a nosegrind.

Rasmus opens up the freshly built China bank.

We took a couple of escapes to Vienna. Daniel tried another frontside flip in the sweltering midday heat for about two hours, then nailed this one at dusk in a few goes.

Rasmus feebles a new bank to an old block.
