Yes, Jo Peters and the boys delivered at Hasenheide on Saturday September 22nd. Despite some electricity problems, the premiere of 20.000 Leagues Under The Sea turned out well sick, with an estimated 200 local lurkers looking on.

The video is made up of strong parts by Hannes Schilling, Roland “Hirschi” Hirsch and Valeri Rosomako mixed in with bits and pieces by the most notable heads in the Berlin scene and some mad maritime animations.

Paired with classy filming and editing, as well as a whole universe of more or less unknown spots, plus new twists on the more familiar ones makes a sick piece to go look out for. Berlin-Neukölln will be the place to be this Saturday when Pinkhaus skateshop and skateable art designer, Roberto Cuellar will get together for the instore vernissage of Plastik Passion, the first part of the Hasenheide skate extravaganza. Afterwards heads will move over to Hasenheide park for the premiere of Jo Peters’ new video 20.000 Leagues Under The Sea (including parts by Hirschi, Mackrodt, Vale, Schilling, Tjark, Sylvain, Dallas and other rippers), as well as a night session on some added Roberto Cuellar pieces. Drinks and bbq included. What more could you wish for…?!

Jo Peters, Strassbourg transplant filmer living in Berlin has just released the trailer to his third film “20.000 Leagues Under The Sea”. The follow up to Objectif Lune and Journey To The Center Of The Earth will feature parts by Valeri Rosomako of Radio skateboards, Antiz’ Roland “Hirschi” Hirsch, Berlin underground rippers, Hannes Schilling and Kieran Heinemann, plus bits and pieces of other notable Berlin heads such as Michael Mackrodt and Sylvain Tognelli.

From what this teaser looks like, it seems as Jo will deliver yet another unique stand-out piece.

Fuck, it even has some thorsting in it! That included, you can’t possibly go wrong, now can you?

This Ain’t California On The Big Screen

Finally, This Ain’t California, the fantastic (pseudo) documentary on youth, freedom and the big lust for life – with skateboarding in GDR times being the driving force bhind all of it – is now officially coming to the big screen. A whole bunch of international film festival titles and nominations, including Berlinale’s “Perspective Deutsches Kino award”, in the bag, the movie co-starring a bunch of Berlin locals like Lennie Burmeister, Juppie Diens, Valeri Rosomako, Barney Benecker and Kai Hillebrandt, is making its premier tour through German cinemas, with screenings at Bright and an afterparty at the open air cinema infront of Berlin’s Cassiopeia club. If you somehow get the chance, be sure not to miss this one, it’s worth it. Good times galore!
