Nike are organising a “Koston” event on the 24th of March at BaySixty6 (London) with Wieger and the whole Nike UK team. It’s completely free from 1pm, there will be a live Tampa Pro screening, food and a Jam with tons of prizes. What more could you ask for?

Since this part is only 6 years old it’s probably too recent to be considered a “classic”, but when that Nike video came out I remember watching it over and over again. Those ridiculously long grinds, smooth backtails and the predominance of fakie tricks even made it a lot easier for us to accept (enjoy?) the usually very annoying the inward heelflips. Yet somehow, the video part didn’t have the impact I thought it would. A lot of the skaters I’ve spoken to hardly remember it. I guess most of them must’ve been put off by the those weird skits they had before every part…

Anyway, it’s almost the weekend and and I can’t think of a better time to watch this. Whether you are seeing it for the first time or already know it off by heart, you are bound to feel a sudden urge to go out and learn fakie switch crooked grinds.

Nike’s ‘Go Skateboarding Day 2012′

As a special treat for Go Skateboarding Day, Nike are holding a little party at BaySixty6 for everyone that comes along.
Sean Malto, Youness Amrani, Lewis Marnell and Wieger Van Wageningen, alongside Fernando Bramsmark, Tim Zom, Chris Jones, Neil Smith, Daniel Kinloch, Joey Pressey and Korahn Gayle will be making their way around some of London’s most iconic spots, including Southbank and Stockwell, finishing up the day at with a demo and signing session at BaySixty6.
The evening session will also act a a send off for the current BaySixty6 set up as Nike will be start renovation works on the park the next day.

If you’re interested in heading along then you should get onto Nike Skateboarding’s Twitter and Instagram for clues about where they’ll be.
