To accompany the release of this first Travel Light video drop we decided to offer you a short interview with Thomas “Switn” Sweertvaegher, the photographer that covered Phil Zwijsen and Jarne Verbruggen’s trip to Iceland for us  (issue 122).

We’ve also got a little recap of last Friday’s Travel Light Gallery Night at Wayward so make sure you check that out if you couldn’t make it.

Thomas ‘Switn’ Sweertvaegher ITW:

Describe your Travel Light trip to me in one sentence:

Fucking epic.

Best tale from the trip:

Hiking for one and a half hours to some hot springs and swimming in them.

Thanks Rob for showing us that epic place in Iceland.

Worst tale from Iceland:

Rain everyday.

How did you spend your rainy days?

Hiking to the hot springs, visiting geysers and skating the indoor park.

Did you bring home any souvenirs from your trip?

Some volcanic rocks.

Who travelled the lightest (least baggage & what) out of your crew?

Must be Jarne. Phil had his house with him. And Sam and I had our camera gear.

Where would you have taken your trip to if you’d had been the one choosing?

Iceland was perfect. I always wanted to go there but never thought of it as a skate trip. Maybe I would have chosen somewhere warmer and dryer to skate, but it was epic.

Best Sam Bailey story:

Sam hiking to the hot springs in his bathrobe whilst passing tourists in expensive hiking gear and carrying backpacks. We just brought our supermarket bags with swim gear.

And also Sam falling asleep in between the beds. I didn’t see him for 20 minutes when I first went in bed. I wanted to charge my laptop and saw him when I wanted to plug it in. He scared the shit out of me. Then he went to sleep in the shower.
